Frequently Ask Questions

Am I a good candidate for a hair transplant from Scalp Savant?

Scalp Savant caters to all clients who are suffering from any kind of hair loss. However, we do have some conditions that need to be met before we can proceed. Clients must be of age and medically fit to undergo the procedure. They must not have any allergies that can interfere with the procedure. If these parameters are met, then we’ll try our best to restore your hair.

Is there an ideal age to begin hair transplantation?

Hair loss usually starts between 25 and 35 years of age. Depending on the condition causing hair loss and the intensity of the hair loss, any person over 18 years of age can get a hair transplant, although it might be best to consult with a doctor first and to confirm your condition and if a transplant is required.

How many hairs will be transplanted?

With scalp micropigmentation, micro-needles are used to deposit a special pigment into the scalp. It is nearly impossible to estimate how many tiny hair follicles are emulated through this process, but it could very well be in the thousands or hundreds of thousands.

How many sessions will I need to achieve results?

Scalp micropigmentation requires multiple sessions. One session is usually reserved for consultation and testing and if everything is okay, the procedure can go ahead. In most cases, the client requires 2, 3 or maybe 4 sessions to complete their scalp micropigmentation.

How long after my hair transplant procedure will I begin to see hair growth?

It is difficult to provide a definitive answer as different clients respond differently to the procedure. Some clients can see resumed hair growth soon after the procedure while for others, hair growth might not be noticeable for some time.

What type of post-operative care does Scalp Savant Provide?

While Scalp Savant does not provide any direct post-operative care, we do provide our clients with a list of things they need to refrain from in order to allow the pigment to set and the client to recover. This can include things like avoiding excessive sweating, saunas and facial massages.

How soon can I go back to work after the procedure?

The non-invasive nature of the procedure allows patients to return to work right away or within one or two days. The downtime is minimal and does not require patients to take time off work. Any irritation or redness usually goes away quickly, and the patient can return to work soon after.

How long does scalp micropigmentation last?

Scalp micropigmentation is classified as a permanent or semi-permanent procedure. The treatment can last up to 6 years depending on how it was done and how much care has been taken to prolong its effects in the following years. In most cases, micropigmentation starts to lighten after 4-6 years but this can easily be fixed with a touch up.

How much does Scalp Micropigmentation cost?

Pricing for scalp micropigmentation usually varies depending on the intensity of the hair loss. A rough estimate can lie anywhere between $2500 and $4000. Each case is evaluated individually, and personalized quotes are provided depending on the condition and number of sessions required.

Is scalp micropigmentation detectable?

Scalp micropigmentation is popular due to it being a non-invasive procedure. In addition, the treatment offers natural and undetectable results. The end result is nearly indistinguishable from a fresh buzz cut. At Scalp Savant, we match each individual hair follicle to create a perfect match for each client.

How do I choose a hairline?

For people that are unsure regarding their hairline, Scalp Savant offers treatment specialists that can guide our clients. Their experience allows them to know what kind of hairline will suit a particular head shape and individuals of differing ages. Some adjustments can be made during the sessions to allow our clients to get the perfect hairline.

If I have hair left, can I leave it long?

Hair thinning and hair loss effects people differently. In some cases, it is possible for people suffering from hair loss to maintain long hair. Scalp pigmentation can cover up any bald spots or patches of thin hair. However, if the hair fall is severe then clients are recommended to cut their hair short.

Will Scalp Micropigmentation work with gray hair?

Scalp micropigmentation is for everyone, regardless of the color of their hair. In most cases, hair appears darker when cropped short as the root is usually of a darker color. For clients with gray hair, a gray-scale pigment is used, the shade of which can further be customized to perfectly match the hair tone of the client.
