Scar Camouflage

Scar camouflage is usually a requirement following FUT/FUE hair transplants as transplants of this nature can cause significant scarring in visible areas. Scar camouflage tattoo is an excellent way of covering up scars which makes the scars appear much more normal and significantly less obvious to the eye.

Scarring from hair transplants is usually in the form of a line across the back of the head, just above the neck. Micropigmentation scar camouflage covers this up by using micropigmentation to inject into the scalp, masking the scar.

If you’re wondering “what is scar camouflage” then it can be best described as a non-invasive procedure that is similar to a tattoo. Clients are usually required to come in for a consultation before the procedure can begin. The first phase includes deciding on a color that covers up the scar and looks natural. The scar itself is also closely inspected as scar tissue is different from normal skin and requires to be treated more carefully.

Once the client has been briefed and decisions have been made, a test is done. A small piece of the scar is subject to micropigmentation to see if the color matching is accurate and to ensure there is no allergic reaction or inflammation around the scar.

Clients usually need to wait a week or until the redness goes away for the results to be properly examined. If everything goes well, the scar camouflage process can start. The process usually requires multiple sessions and when it is completed, the scar is barely noticeable.
